Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is a water-based salt solution commonly used in biological and biochemical research. It mimics the ion concentration and osmolarity of the human body, making it ideal for maintaining the integrity of cells in lab environments.
This reagent is CE marked and its production falls within Sussex Biologicals’ ISO EN 13485:2016 certification.
PBS is manufactured using reagent grade de-ionised water and has the following specifications:
pH 7.00 ± 0.05
Osmolality 290 mOsmol/Kg ± 5 mOsmol/Kg
Unopened shelf life is 2 years from Manufacture, once opened it is recommended the product is used within 4 months.
